The history of John Cabot.
John Cabot was born in Italy in the 15th Century. One of his documents bears his signature to where he was born and where he was back then in Italy.
In 1476, Cabot lived in Venice, Italy, where the main trade center for the Mediterrainian Sea was. He worked there as a merchant and a worker. Arab traders was a horrible experience for Cabot, influencing him that he should find a sea route to the far east which allows the merchants to trade and make deals there.

Searching for a Northwest Route
In 1483, he moved to Bristol, England. He believed that America can be reached by going west. When he heard that Christopher Columbus found the New Land, he was determined to find more of what he said. When he went to King Henry VII, he convinced him that England does not have to wait and let the Spaniards take over, even though the pope gave Spain control over the New Land, England can do something about it and take over. When King Henry VII heard this, he agreed with him. He paid Cabot to sail and find some new lands. His idea was to have a route shorter than that of Columbus.
